Air suspension compressor - identify Hitachi or Dunlop brand

MY12 D4 TDV6 has the C1A20-64 error code. I'm intending to try a Master Rebuild kit <https> through the Air Suspension Compressor but am uncertain on how to identify if the compressor is an original Hitachi or replacement Dunlop unit? They seem to look the same?

The rebuild kits are not compatible between the two brands.

Hi

There should be a label on the compressor , found some pictures of all 3 x types which I hope is useful to u , D4’s I believe changed to AMK

If ur still unsure if u wouldn’t mind taking some pictures plse we can then double check for u

Hope that helps

Hitachi

You should have neither compressor - in a 2012 you should have an AMK.

This is clearly a Dunlop, if it were a Hitachi, this is the plate that would be stamped.

Beat me to it, lol

Hi mate

That’s what I also thought of them changing to the AMK’s on the D4 , but also read that some early D4 still had hitachi

You are correct but a 2012 is not early.

Perfect answer, thank you. This will enable me to identify between the two!

Thanks.

Ref below re D4's all being AMK units.

Re the pics, not sure if you've noticed but both pictures are actually of a Hitachi unit (note the stamped plate rather than stick on both) - pretty sure they're actually both the same picture just someone's slapped a Dunlop logo in the top corner on one.

Have two MY12 D4's here (TDV6 base models) and both have Hitachi compressors. I can't say for certain that that is how they came from the factory as I purchased them used (one is my fathers and the other my wifes) but there is no signs of any modifications or changes in either compressor boxes.

Perhaps they threw the old parts on the vehicles destined for Australia?

Thanks all for the replies. I pulled the bottom cover off, double confirmed that it is a Hitachi style unit, and checked the plate which is stamped with Land Rover. Hitachi rebuild kit inbound!
