D3 manual gearbox linkage.

Is it possible to change the manual gearbox linkage from inside the car?

I have my gearbox out at the moment to do the DMF, the clutch and the turbo. There is a bit of play in the linkage but I would like to get it all back together and check that it all works, before spending another £300 on the linkage.

I don't believe so. Why do you need a whole linkage? The clips and seals are available separately.

The wear isn't in the pin with the o rings and the clip, below the lever. It seems to be in the joint further forward that attaches to the selector on the gearbox and possibly in the ball at the base of the lever.

I notice that you have a 2.5 Pi. I have always liked them.

Very nice. Emerald Green? That's a long time to own a car. I used to have a 150 BHP TR6, they are so smooth and tourqey those engines. I also had Dolomites when I was younger and I bought another one about 3 years ago in which I am fitting Nissan turbo engine and 5 speed gearbox.

Yes, Emerald Green. I've had a Herald and a GT6 in the past, I did dabble with Dolomites, always fancied a Sprint. I like the idea of modern engines in older cars, a turbo engine and 5 speed could work very well! Thumbs Up

I bought a Sprint in 1989. I re-built the engine, ported the head and fitted a different cam and it went really well.

Here's the Nissan engine in the current Dolomite. Hoping for about 230 BHP with the custom manifold, better fuel pump, FMIC and a chip.

Sorry, I nearly forgot that this wasn't a Triumph forum.

Back to my Discovery....what is the flywheel bolt torque figure?

Thanks Richard. I have bought new bolts. I don't suppose you know the clutch to flywheel bolt torque too?
