Steering Angle Issue

Hi all

I recently bought a 2008 HSE 2.7 Auto

It had a known fault whereby the HD/special functions unavailable/low height suspension/steering angle light and suspension showed as soon as steering turned.

The disc had come loose on the steering wheel, and this showed on the 4x4 display with wheels pointing left when straight ahead.

So, glued it in place. Centred it and all was better, roadtested and took a while but the fault randomnly reappeared. Just after the traction control heavily cut in at normal speed!

Tested a few more times and seems to do it when slightly bearing right. But only very intermittently.

The steering is straight, shows straight on 4x4 display but noticed it does not show wheels turning to right until turned a fair way when left is immediate on the display.

Any ideas? Awaiting my tool being delivered but thought possibly needs calibrating or if not unrelated and an abs sensor (though abs doesn’t come on)

Many thanks

I had the same symptoms and re-calibration solved it for me.

You say that you're waiting for a tool, I hope you mean a 'GAP IID Tool' and not a spanner in this case Laughing
Assuming you do then seeing any other faults (e.g. ABS sensor) will be very straightforward, as will the recalibration.

Yes, you need to recalibrate the steering angle sensor. Thumbs Up

Haha, yes indeed. No spanner in this instance!

Many thanks for your help, will update!
