cabin heater air control box removal? |
|
Has anyone had the pleasure of removing the cabin heater air control box?
I have a D3 with a shaft freely rotating, that should move flaps inside.
I can't see any alternative but to change the box, which looks like an epic task. Chris

I worked out a relatively easy fix for this problem. I won't bore you with the details, but assume there are or will be other owners facing the same issue, who may find this thread.
I pulled apart the dashboard and all trim on a parts D3, and removed the metal support frame. That was enough to tell me that air box replacement is simply far too much work. It would be a similar task to reach the AC evaporator inside the cabin.
It is easy to check airflow output on each setting, screen/dash-vents/floor. This D3 had no airflow to the floor (and constant air from vents) also no warm air to n/s. Chris
