I'm building up to a spring clean of my 90k D3 in the next few weeks and the wheels are in a right old state.
I have tried using "Wonder Wheels" from Halfords to no effect on the black pitting that has built up in the corners.
Has anybody any thoughts on any product that might shift it?i'm lovin it....

It's a fact from what I can see that the powder coating on the 18" style 1 wheels will not stand up the brake dust and disc material that get onto it.
The use of Oven cleaner is a bit drastic and I have no doubt that repeated use will not do the coating any good in the long run.
I am on a look out for a second set of wheels which I will get painted up properly which some decent paint, not the cheap S t LR are currently using.

I think it has more to do with the 90 deg angle that the rim presents to debris, than the quality of paint. The style 2 18's and the 19's with their convex rim deflect the crap. The new 18" style 2 has a flat rim & suffers just like the 18" 5 spoke.

make sure you clean it off, the chemicals will leave dull spots on the body paintwork if it get on there.
