Window regulator install
Hi guys
I’ve bought a new regular for rest passenger window as the previous was knackered. I understand I need this to sync up?
How does this need syncing when installing, and do I need a code reader to tell the vehicle so the codes don’t mismatch?

i would of thought the syncing is for the one touch window operation and if so my d3 and d4 you just do a window down then up but hold the switch up when the window gets to the top that should reactivate the OneTouch window up/downplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

I managed it on Disco 3 yeah but fiddly mind!
Disco 5 not so easy… I bought a stripped one and was told it’s out of sync with the cables, ie too short or something? Pretty odd. Rang a second mechanic he said yeah could be true :/D3 - moved on

Regulator replaced and re-sync done by holding the button in the "up" position when the window was closed.
Didn't even cost any knuckle skin D5 Here

Amazing. Was your part like this? Last mechanic said the cable wasn’t long enough or something like that :/

Two screws, one upwards at the bottom of the door pocket and one hiding behind a plastic tab on the the waist line at the lock end of the door.
The panel next to the handle pull pulls off but from the top edge, the bottom has tabs interlocking with the door car. Last bit bolts behind here and finally prise off the plastic flap behind the door lock lever for the last screw.
I used a flat paint scraper inserted between the hard plastic of the door pocket and door metal to open up a gap to get fingers in then a huge pull!D5 Here

Front one is gone now too - argh! Seems a common fault? Why can’t why use better cabling…
When you took the door off did you then remove the panel on the front and get to the mechanism?

I didn't take the door off, just removed the door card then the back plastic panel holding the speaker, etc. That gives access to the door viod where the regulator lives.D5 Here

Sorry yes what I meant. Front and back gone on mine now!!
Panel off and old reg removed but the new one is seemingly too tight yet it’s from a disco 5? Were the black runners horizontal or vertical when you fitted it mate? We took it out thinking it was horizontal but seems to go back vertical?D3 - moved on
