CB & Antenna Mount
Hi CHaps
So off to the Pyrenees again later this year and the group I am going with use CB's as opposed to walkie-talkie radios so I am looking for some suggestions as to what to buy (usually Midland) and where to mount the antenna without drilling or mounting anything permanent.
Pics and suggestions please chaps "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.
I’ve used one of RLD’s mounts (fixes into roof rail) without issues, I know he has stock at the mo.
Can’t add pic due to pants tinterweb at homePaul.

Cheers Chaps, just sent RLD a PM so mount sorted I think - now for the CB and where to put/mount one "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.
I have 2 here, one with controls on handset.
Both tend to live in between ctr console & passenger seat.
Mate has one ‘fitted’ under dash, never fancied that due to potential issues in a crash etc.
Mud Stuff did a ctr roof console for non sun roof, pricey through. Always bemoaned lack of aftermarket courtesy light console to accommodate somethingPaul.

Many thks paul
@ Japseroony , See that others have mounted there’s by making a bracket in the cup holder, thought it was very clever , found the link for u
At one time looked at the ones that had the small LCD screen allowing to locate the base out the way , ie glove box etc, others having the main controls inside the mic

This was the one I was thinking about, alas I think there now obsolete but did see a few on eBay etc
Also Think it was midland that made a CB that wasn’t very deep and therefore may fit into the top glove box ??

So decided on a handheld with a mag mount and long antenna.
Tried to buy a package deal with Thunderpole but they changed to prices in front of my eyes whilst logged on as I was asking about an 85cm antenna as opposed to a 1.55m antenna and they would not honor the original price (it was a mistake according to them so if I had not called them they would have sold at the lower price!) - shysters
So eventually got in touch with Jim from 4x4CB who used to be Communication Eleven and what a very helpful chap he is - deal done and on its way for the following - oh and cheaper than the shysters;
Midland Alan 42 DS
Large Springer Antenna
7" Mag Mount
QS200 Vent Mount
Antenna Base Bung"UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Depending on which way you route the coax, check it's long enough, it's quite deceiving how long the Disco is!
