Zero pressure on fuel rail

Seeking the collective knowledge of the forum once again!

I have a 2016 Landmark with 80k miles which had been experiencing occasional extended cranking times before starting. Most times it would catch within a second, and the rare times it would struggle, it would take between 3-5 seconds.

Approx 5 second crank time one morning while moving the car on the drive, 30 minutes later it starts immediately. Drove for an hour all through the rev range and it performed perfectly. Next morning it refuses to start and has stayed that way.

I thought an injector might've been leaking too much fuel but when performing a leak-off test, zero fuel came out of all the injectors.

Checked the basics:

New fuel filter
No leaks under the car.
LPFP is drawing 5.5amps. 5psi at the schrader - approx 2.8 litres a minute.
Fuel rail pressure sensor reads 0.3v and doesn't change while cranking.
30000kpa desired rail pressure while cranking, 600-1000kpa actual rail pressure (I assume this is the lowest reading the sensor can give.)
Losened a high pressure fuel line at the rail while cranking and zero fuel is coming out.
Replaced the fuel volume control valve on the HPFP but no change.
Pressure control valve doesnt appear to be returning any fuel.

I'm struggling to believe the HPFP has failed or the belt has snapped since it ran perfectly when stopped and there are no bad noises while cranking.

Any help or diagnostic tests would be really appreciated!!

Hi Adam,

High pressure fuel pump was the culprit sadly. Nothing inside appeared to be damaged so I'm sure it was something silly, but I replaced it with a spare I had and it fired right up! It's a tricky job with the body on though.
