Turbocharger Boost Pressure Low & IID

Well I must say I didn't expect my new widget (IID BT) would be called into fault finding so quickly, but it seems it has, although my wife is sure said widget has broken it.

Anyway, using the car this morning all fine, stopped for diesel on the way home (I did put diesel in) and a few minutes after that exited a roundabout and was accelerating to 50mph up a steep hill, got to about 45mph when the restricted performance message appeared. Less than half a mile from home so continued.

Three codes found, the main one being P1247-00 (2F) Turbocharger boost pressure low.

The others being about lost communication with the auxiliary heater (U0166-00 (2A)) and parking assist control module (U0159-00 68.

I haven't cleared the codes or restarted the car yet, but assume that would be the first step, but as I have seen things on here about sticking turbo valves and solenoids thought I would check first as not in the least bit techie!

Whilst I'm asking questions, I had planned to ask about a problem I'm having with the towing electrics (fitted by LR dealer) not turning off the rear parking sensors or fog lights when towing. It's been back about 5 times now with no joy, but my widget tells me it's set for 13 pin when I have 7.

I was going to change it, but there is a long list of options and whilst happy to try them all, I thought someone might know.

Finally! In order to make the mpg reading more accurate, I thought I had seen mentioned a 15% reduction was needed, but the options I have for adjustment run from -7.5 to 8 (currently set at 7), just sort of assumed 15 would be there, or do I need to do some maths!

As always, grateful for any help, especially before I kill my Discovery in error with the widget!
 Andy

Well it's started up with no restricted performance message, so wish me luck I'm going for a drive to see what happens.

I hope you will all keep me company if I have to wait somewhere for a man in a yellow van Whistle

Driving to the dealers this morning I got myself a new warning symbol about half a mile away, plus an embarrassing stop on a hill to let traffic past.

New warning code P006A-00 (EC) manifold absolute pressure.

Anyway, given I wasn't booked in they were able to take a look and a part has been ordered, so that was good and normal service should resume on Thursday Thumbs Up

Sadly the service receptionist didn't know and couldn't find anyone to ask.

They also said the towing electrics are on the wrong setting as they have been trying out lots of options. Not sure how that leaves me if I now plug one of my trailers in.

I'm going to have to say something nice about my dealer, not only have they fixed the problem, they also remembered to leave it parked outside so I could collect it late last night after they'd closed, although I nearly didn't find it.

The problem was to do with the turbo actuator, which they replaced, not sure if it is just my imagination, but it seems to be much quicker now and the accelerator requires less pressure to get it moving as well, so definitely an improvement, glad they sorted the brakes out following my breakdown a month or so ago so now it goes well and stops well!

They have also sorted out the towing electrics as well, they even got their light board out to prove it.

Just the faulty fuel gauge to go now, so need to bring it back with less diesel.

I'll ignore the fact they thought they'd lost the car and couldn't find the key so I had to go in twice today.

It be great if you could find out which turbo actuator or CSOV has been replaced to aid others down the line.

Brill that it is all fixed!

Thanks Robbie Thumbs Up

It has to go back for something else, (but needs less diesel so they can remove the tank), so I will try and find out.

I am convinced it has made a big difference to the performance, not only does there seem more of it, but it accelerates more smoothly as well.

Hi, did you ever find out which turbo actuator it was? I'm getting the "low boost pressure" on my OBD. Thanks
