How Many Belts ? 2016 Graphite |
|
Just had 7 year service (@40k) done at main dealer.
Schedule lists...
"Renew Ancillary Driving Belts"
"Replace Camshaft drive belt, tensioner and idler pulley"
"Renew fuel pump drive belt and tensioner"
Parts used...
LR078913 Belt Timing
LR071408 V belt
Trying to chase info on belts on SDV6 but confused.
Some sources say "2 belts"
Some say "Ancillary components drive belt, and Cam Belt"
Assuming the above part numbers are updated numbers as they don't match info searched.
If three belts, part number for fuel pump belt kit please.
So...are there 2 belts or three ??

3, 1 auxiliary drives alternator etc, 2 cam belt at front of engine, 3 high pressure fuel pump belt at the rear.
Cam belt and fuel pump belt usually come as a kit. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thank You.
Have spoken to them, and they reckon that fuel pump belt is inspection only on low mileage and monitor condition year on year.
Keeping fingers crossed, , but have never had any problems with local LR workshop.

So how are they inspecting it (the fuel pump belt)? Because by the time you’ve stripped everything off to remove the cover so that you can see the belt you would be crazy to not replace it. Sounds to me like they won’t have done anything more than the front timing belt and auxiliary belt and not gone anywhere near the fuel pump belt.

Who’s responsible if/when the belt snaps?— could be interesting! It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi,
I would be checking how much they quoted to do the service, what was on that quote and if it was "to schedule" then ask where the schedule says "inspect it"
if it was in the quote (7 year service) I would be wanting it done
