AC hose leak? Green fluid

Hello
Anyone offer any advice on this leak and repair?

I noticed green fluid at front left of car on garage floor.

A search on this forum yielded a similar problem and that the probable cause is the AC refrigerant, which is green.
I can see a black AC hose with the wet oil look near a metal union. The hose is at bottom of engine bay, seen through the gap between the fan and engine.

I read it is a case of changing the o ring.

The AC gas will need degassing presumably professionally? I can get this done locally
How is the union connected? Is it a crimp? Is it a rubber or fibre o ring?

Will a low AC refrigerant trigger a protective off mode and stop the compressor running, (before it breaks due to low AC gas/liquid). The Vauxhall Astra I drive that has notorious AC leaks cuts out the compressor if the AC refrigerant pressure is low.
Thanks

Take it to an Air Con specialist, they will drain the green AC gas/fluid and refill with a legal 'testing' fluid. They are not permitted to recharge with refrigerant gas to look for leaks. It is possible the fluid you see is from the air con condenser (radiator) and leaking onto the pipe.

I'll check the AC condenser. Definitely looks like the AC hose union though.

Ditto as Admirable above take it to a specialist they know what they are doing and AC is not something to play with. I would suggest that if your AC is still working its unlikely thats the problem as it would have cut itself out.
