Lumpy Idle but looks like Camshaft isn’t turning.. |
|
Hi, I’ve just replaced both intake manifolds on my MY16.. input it back together and went out to clear the DPF.
But was stuck at idle and it of revved up in park it had thick smoke.
I though this was a DPF issue, I split the joint at the front of the DPF hoping this would relieve the pressure so I could put it only my driveway to remove and clean the DPF but was still the same..
Could the back pressure from the exhaust have done damage to the head? I checked it over and looked in the oil cap and saw that it looks although the RH cam isn’t turning ! Obviously I turned it off straight away..
I pulled off the front and and the cam belt is fully intact and seems fine. But! When I put my finger in the oil filler I could move the cam lobe back and forth 😵💫
I’m guessing it’s broken the cam chain, I don’t really know the atomy of this engine, it must have happened at idle but is it likely to have damaged much more?
There were no abnormal noises to suggest a valve had been hit etc..
Going to speak to Oval Autos tomorrow 😵💸💰 Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black
