Advice needed few issues

Hi I am looking for some advice please ...

We have a D4 2012 3.0 8 speed that has just had an engine replacement after the crank snapped 8 months ago.

The engine was replaced last week and since having it back 2 error lights have appears when starting.

1. Engine Coolant low - have checked and is full

2. Gearbox fault not in park - it does go in to all gears, but does not highlight red when in P it does not rise and sink when starting or turning off.

When accelerating hear a quick whoosh sound from the driver side vent but only when having to use the accelerating to overtake.

Coolant low - this is a common problem. If the level is fine, most likely the problem is the float in the tank. To resolve replace the coolant tank with a new one.

Gear selector - sounds also like a common problem. You can search for forum but I think you’ll end up replacing the selector module.

No idea about the swoosh. Mr. Green

Thank you dr the response, sorry for the lack of correct terminology (whoosh) it is really odd ! Was on the motorway and put my foot down to overtake and it had the power to get speed up to 70 then heard whoosh noise and lost power, pulled over and turned it off and back on and was okay just becomes an issue if you put foot down to overtake.

Thanks for the advice though new to owning a D4 and learning quickly they are costly and complicated 🙈 Surprised

I’d check the hoses… the sound is most likely air escaping from one when you kick down the pedal. So I’m going to guess boost hose. I don’t have one in my V8 (no turbos) so no personal experience of this Whistle

If you’ve just had the engine replaced, it would be worth talking to the place that did it about your issues.
Good luck sorting.
