it's at the grass roots level it needs to take off to be taken 'seriously' not the halo events with freebies and subsidised tickets. Good turn out though last night.
Too much talk of parity with the men's game too early for me. Talk that the women's teams should be paid the same as men 'now' yet as a business it doesn't 'add up'. The big name women's teams (Arsenal, Chelsea, Man C and U, West, ham, Birmingham, etc.) usually have less than a couple of 1000 paying fans at their equivalent of a premier fixture yet think it is their right to play at the main stadium not the 'training grounds' (often multi 1000 capacity 'proper' grounds any league 1 men's team would be happy to own).
Got to start somewhere and I don't think they can complain with the TV streaming companies pushing it for all its worth, probably more as another revenue stream as the motivator.
They play without fuss and hysteria but the quality still isn't there for me

As someone who normally only watches the odd mens World Cup matches and nothing domestic, then womens football, even their World Cup, just isn’t appealing.
SWMBO is a fervent football fan, but she feels the same way too.

Brilliant entertainment to come back from 1-0 down in extra time. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
