EPB Help
Well my patience has gone and I’m stuck.
Got to work at 6am this morning, parked up and applied my EPB and squeal like a dead donkey and lost my EPB.
Tried the release via my IIDtool and no luck it’s stuck, tried pulling the emergency cable and that’s well and truly stuck.
I called the AA and they could not help, would not recover me so my car is now stuck in work 23 miles away and I have no idea how I’m going to get it home.
My heads now officially fried, anyway.
Where is the cheapest place to get a new module from to change it and that’s dependent on if I can get it home.
Not my day.
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

The emergency cable is really hard to pull, really really hard!
You need to get a steel bar through the loupe and pull till you think the wire is going to snap.
Have another go.

I would be tempted to buy a boltcropper from screwfix and cut the cables where they enter the backplates.
If you are removing the module you should replace the cables anyway so it’s another £100 or thereabouts.
Otherwise it’s got to be lifted.
Lots of modules and kits on eBay

If you put wheel dollies or skates under rear wheels, it should be possible to recover without much trouble. Then if you can get the back end raised and supported, remove EPB cover and release the stuck brass rod as described in another thread on the forum.Defender 110 SE 2021, Tasman Blue

Yeh that’s my plan.
My car is in my works yard safe and secure so Saturday I’ll go back in work, take my battery disc cutter and cut them both.
As a side note I have recovery with the AA and what a load of they are.
The first mobile guy would do nothing and said my recovery package via my car insurance Admiral is roadside only and not recovery so I peed him off.
I also have the full cover via my bank so called my AA number for my bank and they first would not help but changed their minds.
Yesterday I had to explain that I cannot move my car the brakes are locked on and who ever comes I’ll need skates to move my car, well the flatbed turned up and yes no skates and he would not help.
So today called them back and arranged another recovery and the AA said sure 45 mins great explained I need a flatbed and skates, no issues.
Well I waited and waited so checked my phone and the job dropped off my AA app.
Called them back and they said so sorry the jobs been cancelled why I have no idea but I can arrange a new company to come out and that’s another 3hr wait.
Told them to shove it up their ring.
So I’m going to cut the cables Saturday and I found a garage that will fit the new module and cables for us.
So, where’s the best place to get one from?
Not my best week.

Car recovered Saturday I cut the passenger side brake cable and all was free.
Its now in a local garage getting a new module fitted and both front discs, pads etc changed.
