Difference between Goodyear Wranglers and Pirelli Zeros
I've just fitted a set of 4 18" Pirelli Zeros in place of my Goodyear Wranglers and thought I'd jot down what I've discovered (so far)
THEY ARE VERY VERY DIFFERENT...
The D3 is quieter on the Motorway.
Appears to roll about less
The grip in standing water is very good (no sign of auqaplaning at all in very very heavy rain on the M6 last night).

You may have hit on something there, if it does (and don't change your driving style to 'encourage' it) it could explain why we see quite big differences in fuel economy on vehicles that are otherwise almost identical.The End

Very low rolling resistance for a tyre in their class. They may not give a significant advantage of the Scorpion Zeros, but I'd guess at maybe +10% against the Wranglers.

Would lower rolling resistance not equate to less grip on a slippery surface (such as mud, grass, ice or snow) ? I thought the Synchrones were intended to offer a bit more all season ability than the Wranglers - or have I got this wrong ?Disco 4 TDV6HSE

The Synchrone is a more road biased 4x4 tyre than the Wrangler. It is OK off-road, and will perfectly adequate for my off-road requirements.
I put them on my D2 V8 and it was a lot quieter, and the mpg went up by 1 mpg (13 to 14) .
I have 4 tyres to be fitted on Saturday.

I have gone from 18inch wranglers to 19 inch pirelli's and the annoying resonance I used to get has gone completely. I also agree that there is significantly less aquaplaning as tested out in the past few days.Disco 3 TDV6HSE Cairns blue auto

Pirelli's are a little harder in compound so will be a bit less adhesive on wet and slippery roads.
