Parking sensor solution
I've had my D4 for 2 years now and largely trouble free with the exception of a few bearable issues that I'll sort at some point. Loads of good info on the forum so thanks to all for contributing. Just thought I'd add some info on the rear parking sensor issue I had and what the solution was....
I was getting the usual error on the dash indicating take the car to the dealer. Reverse cameras unavailable etc... it was intermittent and seemed to occur more when wet.
I read the fault codes which indicated an issue with a couple of the parking sensors. I removed the bumper checked them, and cleaned all the dirt from around the rear of the sensors.
I tried some of the cheap replacements off ebay which again seemed to work intermittently so it was hard to pin down the cause.
Finally I got the wiring diagram and carried out a pin to on check on the loom and found a number of the wires had chafed through and when I looked at where it was, they had chafed against the outside edge of the rear bumper. Soldered some splices in, added some kevlar wrap and issue gone and not seen since!
I've added some photos but first time so hopefully it's worked!

Hi MarkBrown
Thanks for the post. I'm not sure if you uploaded any photos as I am unable to see them (I am logged into the forum).
I was about to do a search on D4 parking sensors, but saw your post under the new posts section.
Got a D4 with front and rear sensors not working. Need to run another scan on the GAP tool and see what the logs are saying.

Hi, yes I've added images. They're showing on the post now when I look at it. First time I've tried it so I'm still learning
The pics show the area on the bumper the loom had rubbed causing the damage. That allowed me to narrow down my search when I'd unwrapped the wires and where i needed to put some additional protection. It's an easy check if you've got a multimeter. Low cost repair to a really annoying problemMark

Thanks both!
I'm actually getting a peculiar issue on my D4, reverse (or forward sensors) don't work at all, though I get the initial beep, when putting into reverse.
Looking at the logs - no mention of parking aid sensors, and also no mention of them in the CCF section of the GAP tool.
