Strange alarm chirp on MY10 RRS and D4
Every few hours - say 4 or 5 hours - my 2010 RRS's alarm makes an odd single whistle. It sounds like this but not exactly. I don't know why it does it but MrH says his MY10 D4 sometimes does the same.
Does anyone else have the same issue and does anyone know the cause?
Thanks,
NJF

It just did it again. The car hasn't been moved and has been locked for more than 24 hours.

Random chirp / beep every few hours from Discovery.
Hi,
I have just found this old thread about the random chirp sound. It's driving me and my neighbours mad. Every few hours, on the hour, it emits a single chirp. Some days not at all. Some days four or five times.
Impossible to diagnose, as I can't predict when it's going to happen.
Did you ever get to the bottom of it? I am desperately trying to find out.
I was just standing outside with a client talking and mine did it's chirp making him give a puzzled look. Never got it sorted, but only does it now and again.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Did anyone ever answer this?

Has anyone found a solution to this single 'chirp'?
My 2010 D4 has started doing exactly the same when parked and locked, at 28 mins past the hour though not every hour...very bizarre.

Yes. There's a back up battery in the alarm and the Gap tool says its flat. I disabled the alarm chirp by fiddling with the settings in the stereo but can't remember how.

EdinWarren...I had a look through the menu on the radio but couldn't find anything related to turning this chirp off, perhaps that's down to having a different system based on the year of the car?
If you do remember how you did it, i'd really like to hear about it.
Thanks in advance.
