Hi, my D4 has developed an engine stutter and lacks power when I start it from cold. Once she warms up its not as noticeable. Its like a missfire but I've had all the injectors tested and they all come back fine. Manifolds are all good and I've checked the vacuum pipes for damage, no EML EVER COMES ON. Anybody else come across my symptoms and managed to get to the bottom of the fault?

when you say "when cold" do you mean the FBH has kicked in? IIRC, there have been many that say that their engine is "lumpy" until the FBH cycle has completed. .

First start in morning. Not cold enough for fuel burner yet but it only lasts for the first couple of mins of driving then goes away untill cold again. I mean engine cold not ambient temp.

I experienced this for the first time this morning:
Ambient temperature around 10 degrees.
Engine had been running for only two minutes, and was still cold, per the gauge.
After turning onto a busy A road and deciding that a few beans did need to be given - despite the cold engine - it spluttered just after 2k revs and wouldn't deliver more beans.
It only did it once, but I didn't try to make it happen twice...

I have noticed the difference between cold weather and warm weather with my D4, but weather it’s cold or warm when starting or at the end of a journey I let the engine warm up or cool down for a few minutes before moving or turning off , give it a couple of minutes idling you will actually eat the engine change tune hope this helps

Doesn't sound like normal behaviour at all to me... did you get a restricted performance message or anything else? I would investigate further. Never good to put your foot down and for the engine to not give what it's got, could make a big difference to the outcome in a dangerous scenario!

@disco chris - there were no warning lights, no.
@stephenw46 - letting the engine warm through sounds wise. Current: D4 TDV HSE
