D4 - Nice upgraded disc & pads recommendations please |
|
Hi
I’m on my 3rd D3/D4 - and each one has had at least 1 set of front discs for ‘steering wheel wobble’
I just seem to work them hard and they develop a warp.
Q - What are a really nice upgrade set of discs and pads - standard size - just ‘better’ bite and feel and really good cooling?
(On another vehicle in the household I just got upgraded vented and cross-drilled with these J-Hook slots on the face - noisy but really ‘bite’)
TIA

I think you'll find that what you are experiencing is pad material affixing to the disk.
However, clearly there comes a time where rotors do need to be replaced, too.
This topic will have many different opinions. In these many decades of driving all kinds of vehicles, in all kinds of terrain and weather, I can tell you nothing works as well or lasts as long as OEM (Duck! I think I hear shotguns going off!)
People will comment on less dust.
People will comment on "looks cool"
People will comment on "its better" without empirical evidence.
People will comment "its just as good at half the price".
Good luck. 2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green
