Worth checking the front hub bearings. Jack up each wheel and attempt to rock wheel by pushing and pulling the sides of the wheel and then at the top / bottom.
If play, (movement), is detected the hub and bearing have to be replaced as a combined unit.
Cheap replacements have a poor reputation for having short lives but recently it seems that a lower price option to the original Timken hubs may be reliable.
Special tools are not required to change the hubs but a torque wrench is needed. The difficulty is a matter of luck.
Search on this site for more information.
Good luck

If it is a clicking noise, may be worth checking the CV joints.
