NO MORE REVERSE???? NO, JUST LIMP MODE... |
|
Good morning
Something strange this morning...
Parked on a slope street,
Impossible to reverse with my 2005 lr3 automatic.
I feel like he would like to reverse but it's as if i have the hand brake engaged
If i try to accelerate it does not up the rpm
Shift into forward ok, but there is a car ahead and i have to reverse to get out
I do not understand anything ?

Might be a long shot, but you could try letting the engine warm up fully. Also worth clearing any error codes if you can. I've occasionally had a very sluggish performance first thing in the morning, due to the EGR valves and on the 2005 that doesn't result in an on-screen error message.
On one occasion, I was able to reverse on the level across my drive, put it in forward for a 3-point turn down the slope, but it then didn't want to reverse again up the slope, with the revs not really wanting to rise. I let it idle for a bit and it was then fine.
Hope that works for you! Previously:

Sounds as though it could be a park brake shoe failing.

My dad lives on a very steep hill and I once had a similar issue although I felt mine may be more torque converter related.
However, have you tried getting it into low range mode 1st and then trying. That'll help the engine and gearbox overcome the gradient a lot

Thank you all for your help
I tried in a low range and I was finally able to back off.
The engine is in degraded mode and I cannot exceed 1500 rpm.
Insufficient to exit this slope in reverse.
Thank you again for your help

So its gone into limp mode, you'll need to read the error codes to see what the issue is.

here are the faults displayed by the gap tool :
Airbag
U0073-88 (2F) Control module communication bus off - Bus signal/message failure - bus is off
( at 195340 km )
Body Control
B1C57-14 (2F) Passive start ignition relay coil circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open
( at 195340 km )
Can this lead to a limp mode ?
More details,
The problem came after having installed a jack looking for a coolant leak when returning from having the windshield replaced (I don't see a link but I'll specify anyway).
No alarm on the dashboard.
If I stay in neutral, the engine goes up correctly above 1500 rpm.

Sorry…
the problem came from a poor connection of the air intake hose to the air filter housing...
big mistake….
on the other hand what surprises me is the absence of fault about air in take on the Gap tool
