Aftermarket headlights, how to disable AFS warning light?
I bought some aftermarket headlights without AFS for my 2011 D4 HSE, now I get constantly flashing AFS warning lights.
I thought it would help to just change from "fitted to "not fitted" AFS via GAP tool but that did not help. Anyone know how to disable it?

The CCF...car configuration file ...in the GAP menu will have the not fitted option.
I've looked for the detailed instruction for you, but can't find it in the GAP manual.2011 MY D4 HSE

There is this: https://i.imgur.com/qCLbOlW.png
I set it it to not fitted, still the warning light persists and error codes. I'm not sure what else it could be

Is there a separate control module for the AFS lights? If so what happens if you unplug that.

It is “wall mounted” near the CJB. You probably want to read one of the AFS retrofit threads on the forum… not sure whether it’ll help you in the end but you’ll at least get to know how it is supposed to work. I also think the loom to the headlights is different as the AFS ECU needs to control the motors based on speed and turning, etc. the connector is obviously the same but on non-AFS many pins are not used.
personally, I wouldn’t downgrade but try to find a set of working AFS lights from a local breaker or Ovoko (etc.)

For anyone wondering in the future,
Changed -Adaptive front lighting system = Fitted TO Not fitted
i disconnected the AFS, located on the right-hand side on LHD car.
i had to update my IID tool to get access to the complete CCF menu, there I changed -Headlights, type = Advanced front lighting system with adjuster TO Gas discharge lights with auto adjuster.
Only when I finally did this last step did the flashing yellow warning light stop.
Success!

Thanks for reporting back… but I must ask; why.
Incidentally, I have many miles, all over the world at night under my belt.
Sometimes on a road, sometimes not, (sometimes even in purposeful blackout).
I can’t think of a reason I wouldn’t want this feature.
On the winding roads of the Adirondack Park (rumor has it driving far too fast in the xkr) those lights really make it a pleasure. Equally off the trail with the LR4.2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green
