So. I recently sold a 2007 d3 with 95k miles and full history. The lad contacted me to say it was smoky and rough running when cold. I’d only run it when temps were over 15’c but he’d had as low as 5. It had a new oil temp sensor before I sold it. Long and short is I’ve had it back as didn’t feel fair to leave him with it as it happened straight away. It has had injectors tested and 1 was found to be faulty and dripping when shut off, hoped this was the issue as it made sense. It runs perfect when it’s been driven 50yds but if left idling from cold it smokes and seems to miss. Injectors ok, map/maf ok, nothing obvious with codes or live values. My question relates to the the fuelling strategy as I’m leaning towards the cheap remap in its history folder. Does this sound feasible that the map just bungs 20% on ALL fueling values and it’s running over rich at idle, is that feasible? It was always a bit smelly when cold with some fuel smoke, which I can live with as it’s pokey.
