Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Fault
Hi all
I am new to the forum. I guess my topic is not new but I have not seen a thread on it in the forum.
I bought a disco 4 recently and after driving it for 3 days, I had the message
"Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Fault"
I took it to Kwik Fit and all four valves responded as working. I asked if the valve on the spare wheel cannot be tested and the technician said the valve on the spare wheel does not connect to the system and advised me to take to a garage or main dealer. I called the a LR dealer and they quoted £220 for diagnostics.
I took it to another garage and was told no code was coming up and the valves were good. They have advised me to take this to car electrician. I have 2 questions
1. Has anyone had and resolved this problem before. I could do with some advice from expert knowledge or experience
2. I have been on the internet but do not know how to find LR electrician. I live in Manchester.
Thanks

On my 2016 MY car the spare valve definitely connects and is reported on by the car if low.Gary

@ Gary_P, thanks for your advice. I spoke to my mechanic and he said the first thing they checked was my spare wheel and it was fine and has advised that I see an auto-electrician.

Add your car details in your profile, then people will know exactly which model and trim level you have and more readily assist.
Hopefully someone will be along shortly to provide some assistance with a recommended contact to help you resolve. I’m down south so can’t recommend anywhere useful for you I’m afraid.
Good luckGary

Very interesting - 2016 MY, I changed (to frustrate Rat Boy) my spare for an old RRS wheel/tyre, none TPMS. Car never noticed...

Perhaps the logic is that if it’s not reporting low pressure (because it’s not reporting anything at all) then you get no warning message.Gary
