I seem to have an issue with my discovery 3 where it won’t release the key from the ignition barrel, it’ll let me switch the key to position 2 but won’t let me start the engine either. It sounds like the solanoid switch it working. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Is it going all the way into Park? Sometimes I have to push the gearlever all the way forward for it to hit the switch and let the key be removed. If the cars brain doesn't know it is in park it won't let you start the engine either.
