Discovery 3 good option?

Hello everyone! Pleased to join the disco forum and hopefully gain some valuable expertise from you all!

I have been offered a Disco 3, 2.7 manual, decent MOT and I understand it has been well looked after (awaiting history etc) mileage of 130k

As a newbie to disco3’s just wondering what I should be looking out for, any major issues, common faults that would require me to remortgage etc 😂

I can pick it for £1200/1300 and keen to get peoples view if this is a decent price?

Look forward to your replies (hopefully 😉)

Thanks

It’ll be worth more than that in spares. So, yeah, it’s a good deal.

Thanks for your reply, what do you think it is realistically worth?

No idea, really, since I’m not in UK. But suppose it has nice rims and tires I imagine you could get a few hundred for those already. If you have the space and knowledge to strip it I’d also imagine pretty much everything can be sold if the price is right. Whistle

You said the s word, we all know who's gonna show up now Laughing
On the serious note, they're great cars, but they can drain your bank account, and do require attention with the sapnners from time to time. Check that the oil pump is the reinforced version and that there's no sign of water leaks from the sunroof. Check the service history very closely, and be sure that the three Amigos don't light up your dashboard.

If its a 2007, run due to needing an oil pump

Have you checked how much the road tax costs? £700 a year ? (unless it's an early one, e.g. 2005)
