Simple answer, put your foot down and nothing happens, after about a week the revs will rise and once you get to a coupls of thousand it will seem like you may have a bit of power but so much as look at a speed bump or hill and it will just slow right back down, almost like wading through mud.
Mine started intermittantly, would go back to normal if I restarted and then just failed totally.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Bad ERG valve's can be the cause of several issues. I had starting issues, various fault messages and all lights and bungs go off.CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

mine was opposite to that, no warning lights, messages, bongs, just no power when you put your foot down.

Alternatively on a MY07, orange engine management light is on solid. no other symptoms, no excessive smoke, no loss of power. Depends if it sticks open or shut I guess.

Looks like mine are gone
Next questions:
1. Do I fit blanks or get them replaced (under AA warranty - hopefully)
2. Does it effect Fuel Economy as well as preformance?

Just had my management light come on checked the code P045C it's the EGR, thought it didn't feel right yesterday, so my gut feeling was right.
At least it's still under warranty!

If the warranty coughs up I would get them replaced.
My warranty had expired so my pocket is a lot lighter after having both replaced. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

If they fail (one or both) it must be more cost effective to blank them off
If you replace them (assuming it's out of your pocket not warranty) then in time they will fail again
They are, afterall only fitted to allow the vehicle to comply with emissions regulations for the manufactorer type approvals (I think)Never get mad - get even !!

Disco,
If they are blanked off is there a chance my D3 will fail Emissions Test & MOT?

Hubber,
Your "Management Light"???
Not sure about this.....
Does this mean if I don't get a message on the Dash my EGR Valves are fine?

BHH you will only get an engine management light for 07 onward Disco3
Seems your best bet would be to blank them off, have you spoken to any of the specialists in this neck of the woods to get their opinion
