EPB change out failure

Hi Folks
Fitted a new EPB module, it has not went well.

Parking brake alarm is present, the orange indication is illuminated. Parking brake works but you have to hold up the lever for 10seconds, parking brake is working both sides are on, when the lever is released the parking brake goes off.

My Topscan OBD tool arrived yesterday, the PBM is not communicating. Any ideas please?

According to GAP the module is not VIN coded.

What about programming and calibration. How to do it. GAP is not very informative on that.

I have the same problem a flashing light on the instrument panel. Module is not communicating with GAP.
The new unit seemed to work for a while but not now.

What to do?

EPB change out failure

Hi Boys
Thanks for your input it is appreciated.

Manage to speak with the workshop foreman at our Land Rover dealer, he was very helpful.

He will let me know tomorrow, no VIN change that he can remember but when I explained how the module was working a calibration is required.

The Britpart video quotes "Plug & Play" and at the end of the video programming is required!!!!

Which is it?

Will follow up with results

EPB change out failure

Hi Boys
Slight change in the EPB saga. Parking brake fault has cleared on the information panel, orange fault indication is still present. The parking brake is working and will stop the car but will only stay on when the lever is up and goes off when the lever is returned to the neutral position.

Any ideas please?

Needs programmed with diag gear

From the factory, the module stores the VIN number. Not sure if it ever stores a VIN in a replacement module

Car is Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE Auto. MY 2013

Blinking red sign on dash.
Message saying that handbrake is released.
Nothing happens when doing the attach and release switch.

Mine new non original EPB has not stored a VIN number.
With GAP there is nowhere to programme the module.
Unjamming, latching, sensor cannot be done. no response.

The strange thing is that my old unit has a Discovery 3 unit number and not a Discovery 4.

Can you suggest anyone in our wonderful city of Dundee that would carry out the programming of an EPB?

Also rather strange, engine off and the EPB will engage, the indication stays on on the instrument panel
