EGR Valves - cost to replace?
My 08MY needs at least one EGR valve done (going my engine mgmt light and fault code). I have ordered blanking plates as a fall back but am going to get them replaced (or just one if thats all thats needed). Was going to use local generalist garage as taking the car to stealer is a right royal pain and they have no loan cars immeidately avail. Anyway the stealer has come back via email and offered to do both for under £500 all in (if both need doing). Seems pretty cheap bearing in mind the parts are £230 to £380 all in depending where you buy from.
In some ways I am keen to get em done asap to avoid limp mode. But that stealer price seems pretty competitive.
Any thoughts on the normal costs? thanks

Cheers - yep per my post am aware of the costs of parts and know that it can take 2 - 5 hrs to it yourself plus tha blanking option and the post 07 and MOT issues. Interested in the stealer costs.
Pete as BAS has a blanking kit,(been dissussed many times on this forum)
We DO NEED Pete to come up with a map that allows us to blank Euro 4 engines, e.g. Close the existing EGR valves and turn off the EML.
I thinK Pete promised to do something special for Christmas along with Black Box, maybe its a fix for a Euro 4 engine EGR.In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

Apologies for a bit of a hijack but its partially relevant, Ive slowly dropped from 30MPG to 24MPG with lots of smoke on acceleration, I'm guessing EGR, can I blank if it is Euro4 and how do I tell, I'm also MY08?

For your information - I recently had the check engine light on and EGR codes etc. I had no performance issues so assumed the valves were closed and acting like blanking plates.
Was gearing up to replace the EGRs - getting prices etc - then disconnected the electrical connectors to the left hand EGR and light went out and code changed - on reconnection all codes cleared and check engine light out.
So if you do not have a performance issue - EGR code could be as simple as a connectivity issue not an actual EGR issue.
Also the Toyota 200 series Landcruiser has a similar EGR system to the TDV6. Like our engine it shows codes and the light when its EGRs are blanked. Here is Aust they apparently get around by drilling a small hole in the blank and this allows just enough gas through to fool the computers so you get the benefits of the blanking plugs without the codes etc. Has anyone tried this with EGR blanks on 07MY on engines??

Egr extended warranty cover
I just had mine disco 3 sent to my dealer, very big dealer in Cambridge .they confirmed that it's not covered under select warranty, and guess how much the cost is?
A thumping 915 quid...I can't believe this...
Last year i spent 400 quid for the radiator seal.
I spent 1500 for extended warranty...
I haven't got a cent back from this warranty.
I am seriously thinking of getting a Beamer x5 or Merc GL.

We can blank off your EGR valves and modify engine management software.
We can blank off your EGR valves and modify engine management software.
No engine light and no future EGR problems.
Eu4 2007-2009 Disco 3.
Is this software via Email (as BAS) or do you require the vehicle?
