Air Suspension Issue stuck in Giraffe Mode |
|
So new to me Disco 3 with V8 Petrol & LPG, brought as a project with this known fault, I would welcome any pointers where to start and how long can the air bags sustain being in this state?
I was told the suspension has been fixed in this state by the 'garage', and that this was after the sunroof drain tubes had been renewed, as the passenger front foot well was waterlogged,
So good news there are new drain tubes and the NSF fixing hole is covered so no more footwell water.
Thanks in advance

It could be the breather/exhaust on the compressor for the air suspension blocked?
However it could be a height sensor issue or another issue stopping it lowering.
It would be good to read any fault codes and make sure it’s not a sensor? Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

Is it telling you it’s in off road height On the dash? Or just sitting high? If no dash then them may have fitted a lift kit. If it says off rod height then it should go down automatically over (I think) 30mph. 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Or maybe is necessary to "re-enable" the air suspension system from a diagnostic tool.
Sometimes garages disable the EAS in order to maintain a steady height while working on the car - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

Thanks for the ideas,
Dash shows rear is up and front is normal
I have a diag tool that says it knows about LR Disco 3 air suspension, ( I'm processing getting an ID Tool of course but have other cars to manage so still thinking on this. )
I did have many errors, realised I'd dismantled the height and terrain controls and then the
Battery died, would not recharge so once I'd put a brand new battery in and cleared the noise no more codes.
I had a little play with the height sensor's to no effect and no it does not descend when going over 30 or mph - just keeps life a little interesting.
I was wondering about the air compressor intake, as it has been used to carry materials that could clog it, but have not had time to get it out, second A/C unit makes it a pain.
Any pointers where to get a new filter, not spotted any so far.

Just find someone with a GAP tool near to you and try to prompt the re-enable EAS
If unsuccessfully try also a complete recalibration of height sensors - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0
