[For Sale] landrover discovery 3 tdv6 *has fault please read* rebuilt

240414-376

selling my discovery 3 after a very difficult 2 years of rebuilding it from the ground up.

@119-120k miles crank snapped so i decided to do the full works and get it back to its glory.

you will see from the pics how much has went into it including the chassis

car was very well looked after, i only used it 3-4k miles per year since i owned it.

below is a list of the new parts for the rebuild:

remanufactured engine
remanufactured HPFP
new LR auto gearbox - tgd500670
new seimens/continental MAF
new borgwarner turbocharger
new denso alternator
new MAP sensor
new Intercooler
new condensing radiator - nissens
new radiator
new alternator belt tensioner
new sump and gasket
new oil pump and gasket
new cambelt kit front and back
new performance upgrade kit - filter ss de-cat & silicon hoses
new full suspension arm kit (all 4 corners)
new terrafirma suspension rods
new parking sensors
new prop shaft bearing
new injector x1
new injector leak off pipes and sensor
new bottom hose and thermostat coolant kit
new height sensors x 4
new braided performance brakeline kit
new air suspensior reservoir tank
new full air bag suspension kit - dunlop bags
new fuel tank guard
new epb actuator repair
new coolant expansion tank
new crank sensor reluctor wheel
new crank sensor
new decoke gasket set
new bottom end gasket set
new suspension bushes
new egr blank with remap for 2008
new terrafirma snorkel
new front runner roof rack slimline 2
new front runner ladders
new lr303 spacers

the above list is over £14k in new parts

the vehicle has covered 1000miles in the past year since the rebuild with a recurring fault which was only noticed when i drove on a motorway

******fault code********confirmed from LR software******

Fault 023D-21 manifold absolute pressure Turbocharger/supercharger boost sensor A correlation-signal amplitude< minimum

**************************************************

so the fault only shows up above 55mph, you can be driving at 70mph then you lift off the accelerator slightly and you get the ping, engine management light and your on limp mode until you restart the car. its a generic code so doesnt pin point one issue or area to check

the car drives flawlessly until this happens, garage are currently trying to help find the reason for the fault but finding it difficult with all the new parts, also i cant keep throwing money at it

I have blown my budget trying to get it back to 100% and now have lost the time, patience and money to keep going.

other good bits - previous work - black powder coated wheel inc spare, speedo repair , speedo lens replacement, brembo standard discs and pads , replaced brake callipers. all the cloth seats were in good condition always had covers on them. sony touch screen head unit with apple/google. official rubber mats front and back, and rear deep tub.

other bad bits - some interior plastics have scratches, rear passanger interior wheel arch has damaged plastic covering from a melted wire repair, compressor causes a fault on engine start but dissapears if the car is turned off then back on, was on my list to do likely needs the new seals or replaced.

car currently mot'd until June bit will easily pass as has covered 30 miles since last mot.

any questions please ask or text - 07739322233

genuine sale - it needs to go

£5500 ONO

will update with more pictures when i get accross to the garage

The P023D OBD code stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Sensor A Correlation. It’s a generic powertrain diagnostic trouble code that applies to OBD-II vehicles. Here’s what it means:

The MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) provides the PCM (powertrain control module) with a voltage signal reflecting air density or pressure in the intake manifold.
The turbocharger/supercharger boost pressure sensor A monitors air density (boost pressure) inside the turbocharger/supercharger intake pipe and provides an appropriate voltage signal to the PCM.
The code is triggered when the PCM detects voltage signals between the MAP sensor and boost sensor A that differ by more than a programmed degree.
Symptoms may include decreased engine performance, rich or lean exhaust, and diminished fuel efficiency.
Possible causes include a defective MAP/boost sensor A, open or shorted wiring, engine failure (insufficient vacuum production), or a PCM programming error

Had a similar problem, turned out to be a bad connection on fuel pressure sensor , used cable tie to secure connection and sorted after spending£££££ trying to diagnose it at a specialist - worth a try?

Sounds similar to what I'm experiencing, the lifting off bit in particular, so reading this:
