Was thinking about buying an Ipod connector from ebay for my D3 but reading back on past posts they seem to give some problems, particularly with the steering wheel buttons. Is it worth getting? Is it hard to fit?

Hey Tanters,
Its on ebay for 146.00 sterling. Just type in discovery 3 ipod. I bought all my accessories from england, dealers in ireland are a rip off. There is a chap in Cork, Chris tyler i think who is handy at fitting bits and bobs to land rovers. I am to contact him to see if he could fit it.

£146...pretty cheap alright
said i'd give the aux thing a whirl first as new panel cost only £60 from TLO (Panel not there in comm version!!)
and if that doesn't work properly I might just check that deal out.
Chris seems to be the man alright so best of luck with that.

Yes I know he does the tune. I'd love to have it done but my insurance company were not very impressed when I mentioned it! Even when I stressed it was for fuel saving purposes

Nick (The Large One) from Yeovil does them at £145.27 +P&P.
Come with instructions I'm told; latest LR product; works with steering wheel controls.
That's my next plunge... 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

The Ipod is new to me, infact my first one is still on order. When I do receive it, I would like to use it in my base D3, with the base radio.
Any opinions on FM transmitters. I have read mixed reviews. Do they generally give poor reproduction or is there one that is ahead of the pack.
Any advice would be welcome. *Disco3 7-seat Auto

Is that the Aux panel to fit in the rear?
is the wireing already there then?

I've used FM tx's and now have the LR ACM unit for the ipod. Total night and day clarity.
The LR unit is very easy to fit. Everything you need is in the box and you can also play tunes from a usb pen drive or link on an addittional unit using phono stereo inputs. The ipod holder is a good bit of kit and charges you ipod as you use it, so when you go mobile it's fully charged.
