HELP!!! Code U0122-87

Hi all,

D3, 2.7 Auto HSE 2005

I am not in the best headspace at the moment, please only reply if you understand the issue or genuinely know what it could be/ could help diagnose it:

Bit of a long post so here goes:
Initially presented with the amber EPB issue. Got underneath and sure enough the green wire was split. Joined it back up. When I was under there I noticed the mess somebody else had already made, but as everything else was working I left it alone and continuity was fine.

Typically the plugs on the chassis C0390 and C0391 had broken off their lugs. I cable tied them together thinking I will get to that at a later stage. Turned on to find a multitude of canbus errors. Checked continuity and all was good, then realised the plugs were not seating due to the push in clip things having no lugs to pull down past the insulation. Pulled out the insulation, fitted the plugs hey presto no more canbus issues however....

I then had...

Always Present:
Transfer Case:
U0122-87 (lost comms with VDCM)
Transmission
P0500-00 Vehicle Speed Sensor A

Not always present:
Suspension
C1A30-64 Both switches pressed at the same time- algorithm based failure- signal implausibility failure

Vehicle Dynamic
C1A93-13 Rear right wheel speed sensor

Instrument Pack:
U0159-87 Lost comms with parking control mod. bus signal message failure missing a message

Now I knew the rear drivers side sensor had been bodged by a previous owner, sure enough I must have knocked it at some point and sure enough the wires needed fixing so I fixed those, correctly, faults still persist.

One thing I did note is that the white wire from the wheel sensor had another wire attached to it (I can only assume this then goes to the corresponding port on the ABS module) I did a better job of attaching it (previous owner had simply wrapped them together and taped shut!) I have checked this several times now and is fine. I have even tried fixing it by splicing it back on to the white wire at the plug and checked continuity which was fine. Fault persists whichever way I do it.

Battery voltage is fine, continuity is fine, I have done a hard reset, I have quadruple checked my work (I am no stranger to working on D3s or Land Rovers in general, I do generally know what I am doing!) I have checked the fuses, checked the OBD port, checked the live data....

Does anybody know what is going on?

Not to sound horrible, but I really could do with some actual knowledgable answers from the group experts, this has been a four day ordeal in rain, snow and ice (and tomorrow storm Boris) as I said I am no stranger to working on vehicles and prior to this I had zero issues on my full service history pride and joy so at this point in time I will either cry or have a mental breakdown! So please, no guesses, don't tell me the battery is at fault and yes the steering angle sensor and binnacle work perfectly thank you sorry!

Thank you!

I'm just applying some logic here. Everything was okay until the EPB problem. You fixed that, but you had a problem with two connectors. I would look at those connectors for clean pins and sockets and relook at where the broken wire was.
The U codes are information and can help identify a problem.

Oops - just read you did a hard rest - my bad!

I am wondering if you would benefit from a HARD RESET?

Similar to these examples https://www.disco4.com/forum/hard-reset-20...hard+reset

Guidance here: https://disco4.com/wiki/Hard_Reset

Good luck Thumbs Up

General info I know,so sorry it doesn’t meet your specific request, but when I search that U0122 code on the forum there are plenty of entries with specific entries from very experienced forum members.

Thanks but I have been through them all and followed any advice they have given. I’m no stranger to D3 electrics but this one really has got me stumped
