Wiper arm mystery
This is a new one for me.
Wipers were working fine on the 22nd.
On the 23rd I came out to find the passenger side wiper had sunk down a few inches.
It still works but obviously this isn’t right.
Trying to move it up doesn’t work so it’s still on the spindle.
What’s the chances of that arm coming off so I can figure out what’s happened to it.In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

The short part of the arm (attached to the spindle) still seems to be aligned correctly. Could it be someone passing has kindly bent the wiper down for you?Richard

I've got a used wiper motor and assembly without arms and blades spare if you need one!It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Is the nut under the spindle cover tight? perhaps you can relocate the arm and tighten the nut?

So I popped the cap off the wiper.
The nut was wound down tight.
Cracked it loose, pushed the wiper arm up to its previous location and retightened it back down.
It’s back working but when I tried to push the arm up, both arms moved so it wasn’t slipping or loose on the linkage.
Genuinely puzzled at it as we haven’t had heavy rain, or frost or snow etc that could cause one arm to do it.In loving memory of FA54WSK.
