From Perth - Anyone take the Sabre protection |
|
Hi guys, I'm new. I just bought a New Discovery 3 Diesel S. As you know we don't have much abt the option as we can only choose what on the floor unless we can wait like 4 months for the order and LCT is coming !
This is my 1st discovery. I want the best for it. So this lady trying to push me with the Sabre protection for $1800. The original price they told me is $2500. I get Sabre paint sealant, Nature Guard, Fabric protect, Vinyl protect, leather protect & window tint.
After i pick up the car i realise that look like nothing have been done. What they did actually ? all i can see is they tinted the window which i can tint outside for $400. I want to know if my $1400 is worth spend.
What u think ?
here is the pics of my ride.

I have it (sabre) and I'm in Perth. I had the dealer at Barbagallo spend 15 mins selling it to me and I said No. Too much $$$ and the guy I get to detail the car says he can do it all much cheaper. I leave the dealership without it (in my TDV6 SE with 19000km's on the clock). Get home. Wife asks what is "Sabre"... ...she has located a sticker on the rear qtr window...I check log books and suprise suprise the previous owner spent $2500 fitting it new. Well, what a shock - a dealer trying to get me to pay for it again.
Personally, I'd say they make a 200% mark up and this is waste of $$ and you'd be better getting anything else but...
As for how do you tell if vthey actually did anything (paint, leather etc)...good luck! MY2010 D4 HSE 3.0, e-diff, 19inch MTR's; LLAMS Height adjustor, LR f & r light guards, LR side steps, LR bright finish side door mouldings; LR/Mantec G4 front bash plate, LR G4 Winch kit, Warn 9500lb Winch; GOE compressor guard, Uniden UHF, LR bright finish roof rails, LR G4 driving light kit, LR G4 ladder, 4 x extra rear compartment 12V sockets, Traxide dual battery system and Optima Yellowtop battery, ORS drawer system / fridge slide, LED rear compartment lighting.

Hi buddy, great to know you in Perth. I saw you bought a steering audio remote from Nick. How you contact him ? I tried PM & Email him but no luck. Have you got yours installed already ?
I just confirm the custom made side-step as my mum need it to climb up. She said the car is too high. The custom made side-step cost me $759. My car booked in for next thursday fitting. The dealer wanna ask $1600 and $300 for labour. I think that is a rib off. I should have pictures posted for the side step on next Thursday.
Also the dealer selling the car Matt for $330. I think that is a rip off either. I bought the Replica LR3 matt from ebay US and it cost $60 shipped to Perth. Still waiting it to arrived tho.
I will custom made the Navman S80 navi into the centre-hole.
I'm really excited. I just have the car for 4 days now and i can't think of modify it.

What EBAY site was it in USA?
I bought the steering wheel controls from Barbagallo - $175 I think. Keep trying Nick - he'll get back to you and will probably be cheaper as prices have gone North! You had a lady offering it? Better than the muppet we had - I just said NO. Got it tinted for $320 after getting the car. I am interested though in how the leather copes following treatment - ours (same colour) has picked up a blue tint from jeans.

Yes, ebay US. In US they call LR3. Just need to search LR3 for the parts. I have heard other Aussie member got the control for less than AUD100. I think i should wait patiently for Nick to reply.

LOL, i'm kinda regret now for the $1400 wrongly spend. I really see nothing abt the Sabre product. is that like a wax product that they applied ? or they actually have to spray a coat on it.
I read the booklet that if we wax our car then the Sabre warranty is Void. WTF !
