Has anyone tried the Mickey Thompson ATZ (4 rib design) in 265/70R17? I'd be interested if there's any rubbing and how they go off-road.

Hi Viper,
No direct experience with ATZs, but with my BFG ATs in 265/70 17s, I notice that the rear wheel arches are wearing through towards the front of the arches (trailing edge?). I would expect that the MTZs (with standard suspension) would be worse.
Best Wishes,
Peter

Hi,
I'm using the Mickey Thompson ATZ in 275/65-18, so slightly larger - and getting some rubbing, esp at full compression and full lock, but nothing I'm overly concerned about - and am overall very happy with the tyre.
cheers,

Thanks Guys,
It seems both Norto & Simon are running the M/T ATZ in the 5 rib design. There's a more aggressive 4 rib design ATZ that is about the equivalent of the Cooper ST that I'm thinking of moving to, but it's 805mm in diameter in the 265/70R17. Unfortunately they don't make the 4 rib in 245/70R17.
It would be interesting to know whether the BFG AT 265/70R17 (807.7mm) rubs with air suspended Discos as well as the coilers?
Look's like I might be the guinea pig for these tyres.
Cheers
Barry
