Anyone in the Oz group interested in a gathering - maybe Australia Day weekend?
I've also mentioned to the D2AU group that we could/should do something...

I've also just heard that there is an LROCV/LROC NSW/RRC NSW plan for a gathering at Cooma over Easter in 2008.
Will stay tuned on that too.

Someone suggested Wilpena Pound. We'll have to poll the group closer to the time...

I"m In. Not Australia Day weekend though. Mad Dogs & Englishmen etc etc. The heat would be about 45 in the shade.
How about May 08 (same weekend as the Poms) for a really big one over 4 days Fri-Mon. Breaking into groups to do different treks each day, ranging in difficulty to suit vehicle's/drivers capabilities. Then round the campfire each evening/night to talk Discos & other .
Do some sort of Video/sat set up with the do in the UK.
What do You All think?
Cheers,
David. Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.
2005 TDV6 S with Terrain Response (& all that entails), Tasmods (gorn). 2008 TDV6 HSE (gone). A Dark Side umbrella (here) & car (here).
Volkswagen Golf (SWMBO's)
Datsun Insult (SWTSMBOBIO22SHOMSAH)
Datsun Insult (SWTSMBOBIO19SHOMSAH)
4 BMW's (Stents, not the silly cars)

May '08 sounds good.
Last time I drove from Wilpena (actually Mt. Chambers Gorge) to Melbourne in one (long) day. From memory it was about 15 hours (sole driver).
If we met at Wilpena it would be a good test for O.E. tyres (Wranglers). Those shaley rocks have a habit of going right through Wrangler treads.

You're right, SKP - it will try out the Wranglers!! My travels through the Flinders resulted in two of them being punctured by rocks during the first 10,000km.
The Wranglers are totally unsuited for use on stoney roads and I'm now using Cooper ATR's. Ex Defender 110 200Tdi owner.

Count me in, Cooma is close but at this early stage planing for far away is on the cards.
Like the idea
