Hi JMC,
Just found this email trail.
I work in Aberdeen. Where did you buy the Wranglers from? A couple of months ago I had to pay (flat tyre - beyond repair) £172 for 17 inch all-in to a fitters on the south side (Altens). Didn't think that was too bad at the time. Will need to buy 3 more sometime soon.
Thanks,

I saw somewhere that Kwikfit are doing 25% off Goodyear and Bridgestones just now - might be worth a look.
Also, Costco are doing an £80 discount off any set of 4 tyres just now, although they only do Michelins.

Thanks Dex.
I just checked Kwikfit online, and for 3 (I have 1 new one and a good spare), they want £532.40 (about £177 each) all-in including mobile fitting, so better off going local to where I used before.
I actually used Angus Tyres in Brechin (01356 626611) but despite paying less than you have been quoted, I still felt hard-done-by in respect of the £125+vat The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I ran a set of General Grabbers in 275 45 20 for 42,000 miles and only had to change them because they scrubbed the inside tread off due to bad wheel alignment - still about 5mm left in middle!
