OK as i understand it there are three sockets on the back of the D3 screen for connection of three video devices and the only way to access them is by using the hidden diagnostics menu.
But on a RRS and the FFRR they have these video devices and they work so my question is what enables them is it the software/firmware in the screen or in another unit.
If this is the case could you replace your D3 unit with one from a RRS and get these functions to work from the touch screen. or get the software/firmware changed on the D3 unit to enable these functions. You can never have too many toys...

There is a configuration stored somewhere on the vehicle - I don't know whether this is in the touch screen unit or elsewhere - but this tells the touch screen which buttons to display. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
