Pressures for Cooper STT 245/70R17 ?

All,

Finally getting my set of STT's this week and want to start on the right foot with tyre pressures.

The placard on the D3 says front 33psi and rear 36psi normally and 42psi loaded. But I have found with my current tyres I get wear on the edges with that.

I guess I am interested in what others have found, especially with the Coopers.

I want to have the right pressures to reduce heat build-up problems ... and maximise wear.

Thanks,
Scott

someone suggested putting chalk or similar on your tyres and then go for a drive and see how they wear and work it out from that
