which parrot shud I choose? .... or fun with no PTI fitted!
apart from the no doubt limitless line of jokes around bootiful plummage and norwegian blues ...(!)
which Parrot hands free should I select......
I saw a CK3100 and I dont really need the colour display
any other differences between 3100 and 3200 aprt from a colour display
what about remote control from the wheel or is it pointless ... i dont have the controls fitted any hooo
G4 D3s i guess didnt need phones anyhow!
3100 seems to do as much as i want
can anyone also guide me on cabling ..... anything i should watch for in partciular??
thanks!

I didn't want mine via stereo (space behind the unit isn't big and usually connections for ISO etc are expensive) so bought the separate Parrot speaker kit (£14.00), this with the standard 'box' was all I needed and I went through the bulkhead to the battery / fuse box for the feed -was done in about an hour.D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Just had a CK3100 installed in our 05 D3 and it works a treat. I decided to get our dealer to install it as I'm no electrician. I use an iPhone and it connects and syncs automatically every time the ignition's switched on. It mutes the stereo and/or the sat nav and the sound comes through the speakers. Call clarity is great - no echo for the other person and sound is crystal clear in the D3. Phone volume can be set via 3100 itself and also adjusted 'on the fly' using via the main stereo controls. It also displays caller's number or name if in the phone's address book.
I think the main difference between the 3100 and 3200 are:
1. Colour display.
2. 3200 will stream music through your stereo via bluetooth.
3100 is a neat unit - I highly recommend it

I got the MK 6100, its the one with the seperate display and the remote control..... I fixed the controls on the blanking plate at the side of the radio. . .it requires no drilling as it is self powered (little battey in it) and connects via bluetooth the main unit. . . . the Display is next to the main console so it is clear to see how's calling you. works a treat and the display is a little less intrusive than the others. . and as the others have said the call clarity is good via the cars speakers. .

Back on (real) topic.
Could the parrot bluetooth connection be used to connect the audio from a laptop?“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

just to follow up .....
A local Dusseldorf company called KM Co. Services will come and install it.
Hopefully I will not be travelling that day and will get to see what they do!
I have chosen a CK3100 on recommendation from the company - they refused to offer a CK3200 as they have had too many issues with the colour screen failing in cars due to heat (its getting pretty warm in Europe these days... yesterday 29c ... 2 years ago we topped 42c!) not quite WA desert tempsbut getting there!
Anyhow .... sorted .... quoted fitted price all in was 259 eu. So not bad ... 3 hours work is claimed says the guy I spoke to. Prob a day in my terms!
Ive ordered a kit and install .... which is a properly cabled install by the way not ext speaker
Ill post some pics when done!

wow all installed!
Super!
Mr installers turned up on time to the minute, no effort on my part - he knew exactly what to do!
perfect installation - mutes the radio - comes up as phone mode on the panel - all tested and demonstrated!
audio over the speakers etc
So v pleased ....
highly recommended and all in price of 250eu
the only funny thing was watching his jaw drop when I showed him what car it was going into...
he drives a jeep cherokee LPGd with a 5,6L donk!
he was rather taken with the D3 however ... esp in its G4 guise!
so good one .... well pleased as I leave for Iceland tommorrow lunch!
so a good recommend for the rheinland around Duss-Koln

I also have the CK3100 installed now for the last 2 years without any probs. I am curious however to see how the LCD panel has been installed on your cars.
Mine was simply attached to the blank panel on the right hand side of the console and the cables were squeezed through the gap were the panels meet. i didn't particularly like it there but I didn't have much choice (apparently!)
A small whole was drilled through the blank plate and the LCD panel is held in place with one of the 2 screws that are on the back.

Interested to see what your installations look like...What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

mobyone, i think my parrot is a 3200.......The LCD looks slightly different from yours. The LCD panel is held on with velcro and hasnt moved in 4.5K km's. Mine too has the cable coming out where yours is. I dont find the unit gets in the way and I am very happy with how the system works overall.
We connect two crackberry (blackberry) devices to ours with no problems--only one at a time! We have it set up so that the missus' phone connects as the preferred device.
