Twisty gear selector
My gear selector has started to turn around even though the button still works. I loaned the car to a colleague and I'm not sure what he's done. Does it mean I need a new one and if so any idea of the cost?
Mine has always done that - interested in a solution.....anyone Craig

ISTR that the gear knob is 'keyed' in that it can only go onto the shaft in one position....
I don't see how it could turn if it's pressed all the way in
Slots - stick the lever in 'P' and pull up (very) hard until the knob comes off....can you see any damage on the inside?
I doubt they would be expensive to replace - if you see that it's been butchered, then just give Nick a shout and replace it. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
