Stupid me,
I have left the removable towbar in place for a number of months and now the key wont even go in the lock. Tried WD40 etc, but to no avail. Can the lock be removed by un-doing the allen key on the opposite side of the lock in order to release the unit?
Best Regards
JC

Spray it with WD40, mine got stuck once as well. Best to spray it with WD40 everytime you use it.

I think the Allen key releases some sort of spring mechanism.
I chickened out undoing mine after my lock seized. Keep spraying the WD40, it will release in the end. Duncan

After searching for the key for 2 weeks (which I put in a safe place so I would know where it was) finally decided to take the LR tow bar off to do a bit of sand driving. Can budge it! So looks like need to try the WD40 next weekend. If that does not work think Ill take your advice Rob!! Take the road less traveled. No I am not a fan of the LR towbar, but it is usefull to stop the spair tire steel rope jaming when retracting it with no wheel attatched, ie. use it as a weight Otherwise it is just scrap iron.
There are alternitives out there that are good

It is a useless bit if steel designed by work experience boy. The dealer said they had to free up a lot that had jammed in by being gounded on driveways. They liked the look ofthe Mitchell Bros one but arn't allowed to sell it. But I believe they mention it from time to time. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Don't bother with WD40. Get yourself a can of Plus Gas. Spray or brush it on liberally then go and have a cup of tea/coffee/beer etc. Come back and simply remove the tow bar!
