Need a new drivers side window |
|
Had a bit of a scirmish with a drunk driver tonight , after pulling him over and removing his key from his car , I drove away, with his keys, to the copshop.as I drove away he threw a empty beer bottle at my D3(2007 HSE) , my front driver side window was hit , badly scratched and chipped but not broken , looks like it's got a coating of some sort on the outside , will I get a new one from the dealer or should I go to the auto glass people , although, I feel the dealer should rather fit it. Comments on this , any experience on replacing a side window?

When I needed a new windscreen I booked the car in at the delaer and they then outsourced it . I was told this was the right way to do it to avoid any warranty issues

Guys, take that as a warning to stay sober around the Mokopane area
I have seen the size of Kabous, and I am sure he's a gentleman, but there's no telling what anyone can do when provoked

Good for you to stop the drunk driver and take his keys. I take it you will be getting the money back off him for the window.
Did the police get him ?.

Police got him , I am not sure what he was charged for cause when they arrived he wasn't behind the wheel anymore. I actually didn't lay charges as I did not want to get involved in court procedures or should I say court comedy had enough of that while serving in the police force in my younger years. Most importend is that he was off the road for the rest of the night and that might have saved a life, hell I would appreciate if somebody else did the same and unknowingly saved the lives of my family.
New front window R2000.00 ,
the look on his face when I took his keys..........................................priceless!

By the way it's all the TT boxes fault , if it wasn't for that, the other oak would have gotten away and my window would still be allright.

there is always that chance, but generally (and i speak from experience, having had a gun stuck in my face by a drunk guy) when the guy is that far gone he is prone to waving the weapon around long before you get close, very slow, not very accurate, and easy to disarm
Plus, Kabous has a co-pilot that no-one can mess with.

Kabous i will call you a bit later on. Dont order the glass yet. When i had to replace a top glass and windscreen i got in touch with a guy that is importing genuine landy glass at really good prices. I know where to get his number but it will only happen after 8am. He is approved by land rover (well thats what my favourite dealer said)

Thanks Baben , got the car booked for tomorrow , but sure I can speak to the dealer to just replace the glass for him if we can get a glass from your connection.
Neil , always a chance but I stopped next to the guy about 3 times talking to him , he was swearing all the time he didn't show off any weapons then, so I gathered he did't have anything (like Baben said) and only then I decided to go closer.
