front park sensor false alarms

Does anyone have false alarms with their front park sensors? Even when stationary with nothing moving in front they go off for a few seconds then stop. sometimes a motorbike will pass by, well out of range of the sensor and still trigger the sensor. I am interested if anyone else has any feedback regarding this. i dont think it can be fixed but at least if someone else is having this same problem then i'll feel a bit better about it.

Bye for now

You're not alone...
Mine go off with any loud low frequency noise like busses and motorbikes. Sitting in traffic, the front alarm will sound as each motorbike is passing by, even before they've got to the front! It surprises me how far away they can be and yet still set the sensor off. It annoyed me when I first got the car but I must say I've learnt to ignore it now. If it was referred to as a motorbike alarm, LR could sell it as a feature!
Thumbs Up

Yep! Me too.

Loud bikes and trucks, close but outside normal radar range. Noticed it most at French roundabouts so I figure my LHS corner sensor is more sensitive than the RHS corner (or they have louder bikes/trucks Whistle ).

Water splashes also set it off (puddles in tarmac at junctions).

Is it possible that these parking sensors are 'INTELLIGENT' (if you know what I mean)

When I fitted my towbar to its highest position it set the sensors of constantly but now after 3 days approx they are working fine again. Could they have learnt to ignore/disregard the object only milimeters from the bumper??[/i]

Thanks, Slimer!

I think I'll stick with the old "strategy" for a while yet. I too have come to regard it as a feature. But it's nice to know there is an option Thumbs Up

Between start-up bongs, driver information bongs, seat belt bongs (if you have 'em Whistle ), overspeed bongs, speed camera alerts, radar detector self-tests and false alarms, amateur radio audible signals and the SatNav bonging and talking - what's a few PDC squeaks? Whistle
