Cracked windscreen !!
Hello,
I have just got my new TDV6 HSE and have been driving the car for 1200 km and suddently today there was a 12 cm long crack at the top of the windscreen. I'm the only one driving the car and it does not look like it's a rock hit....... Anyone seen this before ? Will landrover replace this ?
If it's not as a result of a stone chip LR will replace under warranty, take it to your dealer quick and get them to agree to a warranty replacementThe End

providing there i no evidence of impact damage it would look like a stress related failure,at this mileage you should have no problems regarding a warranty repair

I had exactly the same thing with my wifes Disco 3 only from the bottom of the screen. I knew it was a stress crack but my local dealer who we should call nameless of Basingstoke told me it was an impact and wouldn't replace it.
It made me laugh...well not much actually, but the supposed impact was between the bonnet and the wiper, physically impossible unless you have a stone related to the majic bullet from JFK's assasination!!!!!

Just to end this subject ....... i went to the dealer and they found a very small stone chip, but the worst part is that the windscreen is out of stock and they can't tell me when they can deliver and replace ! ?

Surely you don't have to use the Dealer to replace your windscreen now that they are not doing it under warranty.
In this Country your Car insurance is likely to cover the windscreen, with maybe a £50 to £75 excess - which is likely to be less than the Dealer replacement cost (wouldn't even cover an hour's labour at my Dealers). I was speaking to Autoglass a couple of days ago (stone chip) and they said that they'd be able to source a replacement if it proved necessary.
Do you have that sort of cover where you are Steff? Coffeecup

You are absolutely right ! I'm at the moment calling around to other companies to see if they would be able to help me. Yes I have a glss insurance which covers the windscreen but the problem is more to find someone here in Denmark that has one in stock .
