I know we've discussed this before but search she ain't my friend.
I enquired this morning at LR about extending my warranty and service plan. I was given two options - Motorite @ R33k and SA Maintenance Plan @ R25k, both for 2 years / 40k km, comprehensive. But then I asked if this was added onto the original warranty, so that in effect I'd get 5 years / 140k km. The answer from both companies is no. The extended warranty starts the day your original one finishes, and it covers you for only the 2 / 40 period.
Did anyone out there purchase their extended warranty when they bought their vehicle, and if so do they have to tell LR how many km's they've done after 3 years, or conversely when they've done 100k if inside the 3 year period?
In my case I will do about 80k when my warranty expires, but the next year about 40k, so it would've obviously been more beneficial to have the kilometres accrue, instead of fall away.
