GS Stockport

Picked the beast up this morning from Guy Salmon. As usual, it was a pleasant experience.

I have a new drivers seat base - solved the creaking but it seems to have forgotten my saved positions... Perhaps a new controller was installed too? I have a new steering wheel. I think they only replaced the outside bit - certainly the airbag module is the same one that it went in with. I was a bit bewildered as to why I needed a geometry check for a new steering wheel and seat base, but it turns out I've had two new ball joints. The bluetooth PTI is working again - although this is because I've upgraded the N95 software - nothing wrong with the LR side. And the adaptive gearbox has been reset. Time will tell if thats sorted out the unusual power surges (and lack thereof) I've seen recently.

Best of all, while they had the drivers seat out they found my lens cover from my camera Very Happy

I do find it a bit bizarre though that when they do warranty work that I haven't specifically mentioned to them, they just do it and don't tell me. If Derek hadn't dropped into the conversation on Tuesday that he was waiting for it back from the geo check I'd have had no idea that they'd done the ball joints. Is this typical?

BMW dealerships do that all the time BCB, perhaps that is why they are perceived to be more reliable?

Oh yes Very Happy

I think I had a different replacement done than yours though; I'm pretty sure only the outer was replaced, and I've still got all the buttons and stuff that it went in with. Didn't you get a whole new wheel with additional buttons you'd never had before?

Certainly the airbag module is the original, I got additional phone buttons, but I don't know if the cruise/radio/horn buttons are my originals or not?

Does not matter really. It was the rim that was worn out.
