Just spoke with guys at Land Rover and France has got good stock at the Metz facility...There should be no reason he couldn't go to a French dealer and order one emergency (VOR)
Iv'e been told 100 have arrived in UK packers so if all else fails i could shout at someone to get one sent to me and i can send one to him...but maybe not till end of this week early next...best bet is use the part number quoted earlier and get a french dealer to orderTLO has left the building.......
I no longer work for a Landrover Dealer
My little chilli sauce business http://www.thechillees.co.uk
if you would like to order anything just give me a shout

hi
anyone's got the 411 on his situation ?
there is a dealer in Pau (post code 64000) then on in Bayonne (64100) but this woul dbe 2 hours away
in Pau one would be bettter of at SERVICE 4X4 / Dominique Totain : 05 59 62 18 80 that i highly recommand (i drive over an hour to have them service my D3 whereas i do have a LR dealership by my house, and it's not even a bad one !)
Service 4X4 is an idenpendent garage but do sell brand new LRs then do follow the waranty program and so on (dont know if you have that same deal in UK) though they specialyse in prepared LRs (raid especialy) + they do enter the dakar rally with their tomcat, well you get the picture
get back to me if need be in order to translate stuff or anything ok
obviously i am not putting my phone number here, but i would PM it of course

Morning Gents
Back from France yesterday and had to come on here and thank you for helping me out on this problem. It seems as if the billion or so bends on the Pyreenes coming from St Jean Pied de Port to Lourdes the scenic route caused the CV Gaiter to give up the ghost. Spittin grease and causing a lovely burning smell.
Anyway DW was JOhnny on the spot as usual with the assistance, and thanks to Jerome in Biarritz for his info but managed to sort it with LR assist in the end. A local garage, after much beard stroking, decided it wasnt to be touched by anyone other than LR and seeing the only LR garages in the area couldn't see me til this week I ring the lovely LR girl.
LR Assist have one guy covering the Pyreenes region upto atleast Le Man from his base in La Rochelle - A huge area!!!!! We drove on mostly straight roads up to Limoges and the guy Ross met us there. He'd have come down to Lourdes but I didn't see the need to put him to that extra miles when we were heading that way anyway. Sorted it with a tube of superglue of all things so no worries after that. Looked a lot worse than it was.
Anyway thanks again for your help. Good to know you are there when needed.

Also good to know that LR Assist is available to us when travelling in Europe
We're off on Friday for a week, heading to London for the weekend & then under the tunnel on Monday for a few days around Normandy.
My first time driving my own car on the right, so a bit edgy about it all I must say
